Rain is our up and coming star! Starting his show career at just over 6 months, then at 7½ months went lame. After numerous trips to the vet it was decided to send his x-rays to a specialist. It was found that somehow he had managed to sustain a hair line fracture to the femoral neck of his left hind leg. The remedy involved total rest, eventually he returned to the ring at 14 months of age and a “total nut case”! He did his best to drag me every where, but thankfully, some judges saw through his antics and he gained his JW in just 9 weeks! He has continued his winning ways and won his first CC with BOB in 2004. Rain has also done his SGWC and has a fantastic nose when out picking up.

Rain stands at stud to approved bitches and likes to get on with the job with no messing about. He produces good litters, stamping his attributes onto his puppies, particularly good bone, coat and lovely heads. Of course his wives contribute as well as it ‘does take two to tango!’

His daughter Willow (she was bought in) took her 1^st CC at YGRC in April 06.

Best In Show at the United Retriever Club

On the 5^th February 2006 Rain took BIS at Cheltenham &District CS all breed open show. He took BOB under Katherine Wheeler (Arkatha), then the Group under David Bell (Balintyne) and BIS under Jackie Kitchener (Michandy). Giving him 10 points towards his Sh CM in one day ! (there were, according to the Show Secretary, over 800 entries of all breeds which was a record for this show)

Rain continued his good month by again going BIS at the United Retriever Club show on the 26th February. The breed Judge was Julie Seamons (Messano) and the BIS Judge was Miss S. Pinkerton (Bareve), there was over 250 entries in all at URC.
We took Rain to Pontypridd Open Show under Bruce Carter (Blondean) where he took BOB again and G1 (also under same judge). This gave him more than enough points to gain the Sh CM. The certificate now is proudly hung on the wall.
