'Gaina'

Gaina was born in Devizes, Wiltshire and was chosen by Gilly Wicklow, who owned her father as being her pick of the litter, but I preferred her litter sister Ether. So as by this time Rich had started doing a bit of showing I kept both so Rich could show one and I the other one.
Gaina and Ether got their pedigree names from the fact I had been up to Gillys numerous times and Gilly said to me 'Will you come again tomorrow ?' I thought on the way home, as it was my 'C' litter they could be all 'Come' something, although some seem to think it was for other reasons, but that sort of come is spelt differently !
Anyway Gaina was to be the first Purbarn Golden to strut her stuff on the 'Green Carpet' in the Main Ring at Crufts with Rich after winning the Gamekepers Class in 2002.
We did try mating Gaina but she always seemed to reabsorb her litters. We did try one last time in 2004 when she did manage a litter of 3 but sadly only one survived, namely Letty [Purbarn Let Me Love Again] Who went to live with our good friend Joyce Jones in Devizes. It was only a week later that Gaina's mother Connie also had a singleton bitch puppy [Mea] and so mother and daughter looked after their 2 singleton daughters together in the same box.
