'Tucker'
Tucker was the first of the crosses between Bib a pure bred Working Cocker and Ellie a pure bred Sussex Spaniel.
Rich had always wanted a Bib baby, but at the age of 10 it was unlikely anyone was going to use him at stud, as he had never been used before. So when I was given Ellie, who was not quite 3 years old and had always suffered with phantom pregnancies it was decided this mating might give Rich a good working Spaniel and it most certanly did ! Plus hopefully stop Ellie having phantom pregnacnies.Which it also did.
This mating produced what is now called either the Chocolate Drop Spaniels or Cocsux Spaniels.
[Well if a cross between a Cocker and a Poodle is a Cockerpoo, what would you call a Cocker crossed with a Sussex ?]
The original mating was first done in 1997. It was then repeated 3 times in all and we kept Tucker from the first litter and Twig from the third litter
